StageCoach Theatre Company offers summer camps in the performing arts for students ages 5 – 19.  These highly interACTive and fun camps, taught by seasoned professionals who still work in the theatre industry, encourage budding performers to explore the world of theatre.

Scholarships are available through the StageCoach Foundation.

This camp will be held in person at StageCoach Theatre in Ashburn.
A minimum of 4 students is needed to run this camp. Max 15.
For ages 5 – 10
Celebrate the beauty of Hawaii with this delightful mini musical! Hosted by Principal Peterson and Kumu Leilani, our cultural guide, the kids at this party not only sing and dance to several Hawaiian hit songs, they also learn about the traditions, beliefs, and language of the land.
Tuition: $350 + $5.95 service fee

A minimum of 4 students is needed to run this camp. Max 12
The most fun an actor can have! Learn the basics of improvisational theatre. This class will help you with teamwork, spontaneity, and creativity. You’ll get to play some of the most fun and well-known improv comedy games. An actor that can improv a scene is fearless.
Tuition: $350 + $5.95 service fee

Performance will be held on Friday, June 21 at 2:30pm.

This camp will be held in person at StageCoach Theatre in Ashburn.
The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command.
Tuition: $750 for the 2-week camp. Scholarships are available through the StageCoach Foundation.
Students should plan to bring their own snack, lunch, and bottled water.
Performances:  June 28, 29, July 5 & 6 at 7:00pm, June 29, 30 July 6 & 7 at 2:00pm. Actors are expected to arrive at the theater 2 hours prior to showtime.

Here we go… the band is complete! We got singers and we got the beat! Let’s twist and shout and harmonize, too! We’re ready to play a tune for you! Come sing and dance the week again to hits including We Got the Beat, Twist and Shout, Stand By Me, Your Song, Livin’ on a Prayer, and Making the Band.
Tuition: $350 + $5.95 service fee

Whether new to the stage or a Broadway star, this camp is for everyone! Come discover a character and learn how to bring them to life. We’ll have fun learning improv games, working on monologues, and rehearsing for our end-of-camp showcase.
Tuition: $350 + $5.95 service fee

This camp will be held in person at StageCoach Theatre in Ashburn.
A minimum of 4 students is needed to run this camp. Max 15.
For ages 6 – 12

Throughout each camp day, students will play theater games, develop acting skills, come up with a brand new plot and characters, and explore the world of performance. At the end of the camp day, students will put on a short performance, showcasing everything they’ve learned and created.

Tuition: $220 + $5.95 service fee

Whether new to the stage or a Broadway star this camp is for everyone! Come sing and dance the week away as we bring classic and current Broadway hits to life. We’ll have fun playing games, developing basic singing, dancing, and acting techniques, and rehearsing for our end-of-camp showcase.

Puffs

Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.

Puffs is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed or endorsed by J.K Rowling, Warner Bros. or any person or company associated with the Harry Potter books, films or play.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 12:00 noon – 3:00pm. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, March 17 from 12:00 noon – 4:00pm.

Open to ages 12 – 19.

Prepare two memorized monologues: one comedic and one dramatic. Each monologue should be about one minute long.

Evening rehearsals will be held the weeks of June 24 – 28 and July 1 – 5. Camp-style rehearsals will be held Monday – Friday July 8 – 12 from 9:00am – 4:00pm. Pick-up rehearsal will be held on July 18 from 5:00 – 9:00pm.

Performances will be held July 12, 13, 19 & 20 at 7:00pm and July 14 & 21 at 2:00pm.

Disney’s Aristocats KIDS

Camp will be held Monday – Friday July 15 – 19 from 9:00am – 3:00pm.  This camp will be held in person at StageCoach Theatre in Ashburn.

In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it’s up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day.

Tuition: $420 for the 1-week camp. Scholarships are available through the StageCoach Foundation.
No audition is required. Beginners are welcome.

Join Technical Theatre Camp to explore the primary components of stagecraft. Students will collaborate with the creative team of Aristocats KIDS camp to help bring their vision to life for their shows on July 20th and 21st. Topics covered will include lighting, sound, set design, costumes, props, and run crew.
Tuition: $350 + $5.95 service fee

Monday – Friday, July 15 – 19

This camp will be held in person at StageCoach Theatre in Ashburn.
We must have a minimum of 6 students to run the camp. Max 12.
For ages 13 – 18

This is an acting technique summer camp in which students will have access to various techniques and methods from actor training programs in New York City. Movement, character building, script analysis, and more will allow students a means of developing their own artistic method and feeling prepared for future projects.

Diving into Character  

Students will learn how to dig into and annotate various sides and scripted scenes to gain greater understanding of how to work with materials and worldbuild around characters.

Movement for the Actor

Students will learn the basics of movement such as spine work and animal work to find new ways to build and inspire character creation. Students should wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in!

The Art of Play

Students will reflect on the movement techniques learned the day before and put them to use as they devise a movement piece with their classmates. We’ll focus on the art of having fun, thinking on your feet, and bringing yourself to the work. Students should wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in!

Improv

Students will work with introductory to advanced improvisation techniques and games to challenge and grow their ability to listen, devise, and create out of thin air!

The Art of Voice 

Students will focus on awareness of voice through various exercises with warm ups, articulation, and breath control to find your voice and enhance performance.

“A Barnyard Moosical” is a hilarious and imaginative mini-musical about a unique and talented group of animals living at this unusual farm. Between the gourmet goats that refuse to eat garbage, a chorus line of hoofing cows, neatnik pigs and funky dancing chickens, the musical will be sure to tickle the imagination of performers and audiences alike.
Tuition: $350 + $5.95 service fee

Ages 13 – 19

This is a beginner acting technique summer camp in which students will focus on the fundamentals of acting. Monologues, exploration of students’ individuality, artistry, the study of various acting methods, and how to develop their own unique style. Students will have access to various techniques and methods from actor training programs in New York City, allowing students to feel confident approaching projects in the future and continuing their artistic journey!

Discovery

Students will spend time getting to know their classmates and themselves through theatre games. Discover and explore what makes YOU unique. What do you bring to the art and what kind of artist do you want to be? Geek out, get inspired, and enjoy the chance to share what you love about acting, singing, dance, plays, movies, musicals, and more with your classmates as we learn to identify exactly what we’re drawn to and why!

Monologues

Students will learn how to find appropriate monologues, explore their character types, and learn about different styles of monologue!

Technique 

Students will memorize, rehearse, and explore the monologues they chose last class. Learning how to apply acting techniques and using games to find their way in the work, students will discover which methods work best for them.

Audition Fundamentals

Students will learn how to slate, proper audition attire, how to manage nerves, and more! Students will continue their study of acting techniques and monologue preparation through games, reflection, teamwork.

Mock Auditions

Students will apply what they learned during the camp to participate in a mock audition! Students will slate, perform their monologues, and think on their feet as they bravely navigate the experience of an audition. Students will have time to warm up before auditioning and time after to reflect on both their audition and the camp overall.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 6 from 12:00 noon – 3:00pm. Callbacks will be held on Saturday, April 13 from 12:00 noon – 4:00pm.

Open to ages 10 – 19.

The swamp is all a-buzz with party preparations galore. Naturally, the turtles are running late, and Bully the Frog is being a bully. The frogs have learned a new dance, the tadpoles are growing appendages, and the dragonfly larvae need encouragement to spread their wings and fly. The storyline is based on lessons of friendship, tolerance, and courage to face the future.

Audition Prep Bootcamp offers a transformative week of workshops focusing on essential skills for musical theatre auditions. From mastering the singing, acting, and dancing basics directors are always looking for, to learning strategies for selecting the perfect audition material, participants will gain skills and confidence to stand out in the audition room. At the end of the camp, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and newfound confidence through a final showcase.

“We’re off to sail the rollicking sea, pirates all are we!” But Arrrr! and Shiver me timbers! There’s a stowaway on board! Perhaps the King of the High C’s will know what to do.” Join the salty crew of colorful scallywags when Bluebeard, Yellowbeard, Whitebeard, Purplebeard – well, you get the picture – along with the No Beards, hoist the Jolly Roger and set sail for a mighty adventure!
