The dashing young bachelor Lord Henry, Duke of Cavendish, has just returned home from the war abroad. In his honor, the Dowager Lady Worthington is having a dinner party. All the unmarried young ladies of the ton are in attendance. They all hope to catch the Duke’s eye and they won’t let a little thing like the Murder of Lord Fairfax get in the way. But what of the cryptic messages left by the gossip monger Lady Thistledown? Scandal after scandal is revealed as the list of suspects grows ever longer. Can anyone weather Lady Thistledown’s Poisoned Quill?

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, December 18 from 7:30 – 9:30pm at StageCoach Theatre Studio, 20937 Ashburn Road, Suite 240 (2nd floor), Ashburn, VA 20147.

Please plan to stay the whole time. Complete an audition form here prior to the audition so we know to expect you.

Auditions will consist of:

A monologue, maximum of 2 minutes, either dramatic or comedic – whichever will showcase your talents, preferably memorized but you can refer to your notes
Cold readings from the script
Short form improv games
British accents would be great, but not required!
Singing is acceptable during the audition although there are no singing parts in the show. We may choose to incorporate it elsewhere in the performance.

Looking for 1 male / 2 females. All roles are open.

Actors should be youthful in appearance, whether 20, 50, or anything else.

Rehearsals will begin in January 2025. Performances will take place at local venues, wineries, and breweries in March – May (not every weekend).

Characters

Isabella Worthington – The intelligent and curious sister who loves to uncover secrets. She’s known for her sharp mind and keen eye for detail.

Clarissa Worthington – The debutante of the season, charming and resourceful.

Henry Cavendish, Duke of Ashford – A dashing and enigmatic duke with a mysterious past.
