This class is going to be filled with challenging, drama-based activities. Many young actors have a fear of “letting go.” They have no problem acting silly, but looking silly accidentally causes them great anxiety. For many, their inhibitions kick in as soon as they move into “acting mode.” It takes a lot of encouragement and fortitude for them to lose their fear of looking foolish, not realizing that looking foolish is part of the fun. Taking a less-scripted approach to acting, Aaron will be guiding the students through activities that stretch their talents and broaden their perspective. Scavenger hunts, impromptu scene work, improv, character development, puppet shows, etc, will create meaningful learning opportunities. The activities will be geared toward getting actors out of their comfort zone and becoming fearless on stage. “It’s called a PLAY for a reason.”
