Mary Poppins Jr.

A Musical based on the stories of P. L. Travers and the Walt Disney Film

Based on one of the most popular Disney movies of all time and the Broadway musical that played for over 2,500 performances and received multiple Olivier and Tony Awards nominations, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect Broadway Junior musical!

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”

Open to ages 8 – 14, but if you are on the cusp of that age range and interested in auditioning, please reach out to discuss.

Auditions will be held on January 20 from 12:00 noon – 3:00pm.

REHEARSALS will be held once a week in February and twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8PM March-April. Not all cast members will be called to all rehearsals – an in-depth schedule will be shared after casting. In addition, camp day rehearsals will be held on February 9th, March 5th, and April 10th from 9AM-3PM. Absences from camp days due to not attending Loudoun County Public Schools are excused.

TECH REHEARSALS will be held April 22-25 and 29-May 2 from 5-7PM. All cast and crew members are called to all tech rehearsals.

PERFORMANCES will be May 4, 5, 11, 18, and 19 at 2PM. Actors are expected to arrive at the theater two hours prior to showtime.

TUITION: Mary Poppins Jr. is part of our educational theatre camp program. The cost to participate in the cast is $500. This covers all classes and rehearsals, two tickets to a performance of your choice, and participation in any special workshops or master classes offered during the rehearsal period. Scholarships are available from the StageCoach Foundation.

Mary Poppins Jr is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
